The new analytics feature provides a detailed breakdown of post reach, showing the percentage of viewers who are already connected to or following the creator ("In-Network Reach") versus those who discovered the content through recommendations, reshares, search results, and other distribution channels ("Out-of-Network Reach").
According to Sam Corrao Clanon, LinkedIn’s Director of Creator Products, creators will now be able to see exactly how much of their visibility comes from existing connections compared to new audiences. These insights will be available in the Discovery section of post analytics under impressions.
This update gives creators a clearer understanding of which content strengthens engagement with their current network and which posts help attract new audiences, making it easier to refine content strategies and support audience growth.
In addition to the analytics upgrade, LinkedIn has also refreshed the appearance of document posts. Documents now appear in a more compact and streamlined carousel format within the feed, creating a cleaner browsing experience.
While the design change is subtle, it could have a meaningful impact. Document posts are currently among LinkedIn’s highest-performing content formats in terms of engagement, according to research from Socialinsider. The new layout may further enhance user interaction—or potentially influence engagement patterns in new ways.
These updates reflect LinkedIn’s continued focus on helping creators better understand content performance while improving the overall user experience.
